IBM Infoprint 1116

You can't fault the Infoprint 1116 on its performance: It churns out text at 12.4 pages per minute.
This printer is essentially the same as Lexmark's E322, even down to Lexmark's messy on-screen documentation and MarkVision driver software. The Infoprint 1116's paper tray holds only 150 sheets--a 250-sheet add-on tray costs $167 extra--and the auxiliary feed handles only one sheet at a time. We were somewhat disappointed by the 1116's print quality: Text looks clean but small text appears too light and large text looks too heavy, while lines show some overlaps and streaking.
Like many printers that have a single control-panel button and no LCD, the Infoprint 1116's button performs various functions that cause LEDs to blink in codes requiring user interpretation. Fortunately, IBM includes a quick-reference card in a cardboard pouch attached to the printer.
The Infoprint 1116 is a fast printer for nonnetworked small offices, but its price is out of line for what it offers.
