T-Mobile USA will begin selling the latest version of Sharp's Sidekick mobile e-mail device in the U.S. on Monday, Sharp said.

The Sidekick 3 is Sharp's first PDA designed from the ground up to be wireless and includes an e-mail client, Web browser, MP3 player, instant messaging software for AOL, Yahoo and MSN networks, and a game player. Its predecessor, the Sidekick II, also came from Sharp but was based on a reference design from Danger Inc.

Sharp plans to manufacture 100,000 units of the device per month and is also interested in expanding sales to Europe, it said on Thursday.
