Playing with Playlists
Customize your own mixes with WinAmp's Playlist Editor.Lenny Bailes
If you have a library of MP3 files or want to listen to tracks on your CDs in a particular order, creating a WinAmp playlist will give you more control over your tunes.
Do you want to add an entire directory full of audio files to the WinAmp Playlist? Click the Add button on the WinAmp Playlist module, then click the Add Dir button. Simply navigate to the folder where you keep your music files, then click OK.
If you want to add a single file or a few files to the playlist, click the Add button, then click the Add File button. To select a contiguous set of titles in the listing, click the first file, hold down Shift, and click the last file in the list you want to add. To select noncontiguous files, click the first entry and hold down Ctrl as you click each title. After you've made your selections, click the Open button to load the songs into the playlist.
To sort your playlist, click the button labeled Misc on the Playlist module, then Sort List. You can sort alphabetically by title, file name, or by path and filename. You can also reverse the order of any sort by hitting Ctrl-R. If the order of your songs becomes tiresome, create a random playlist: Click Misc, Sort List, Randomize List.
