Appealing speakers-as-stand design saves space, but sacrifices flexibility.

The Advueu ADV191DT's thoughtful design makes it a delight to use. The buttons, mounted on the right side of the bezel, are well-organized and sensibly labeled. The base-mounted volume control dial lets you easily bump the sound down when the phone rings, and the 2-watt speakers set in the boxy stand deliver better sound than most we've heard, though they still aren't likely to please audiophiles. The design's only real problem is its lack of physical adjustments other than tilt.
For image quality, the ADV191DT scored a Good rating in both text and graphics. This score, though respectable, places it in the lower half of recently tested monitors. Priced at $459 at the time we tested it, the ADV191DT was the least-expensive competitive-quality 19-inch LCD we've seen recently.
Clever sound-control design and decent image quality make the Advueu ADV191DT a good buy for an undemanding user.
